Periodontitis therapy - Dentist Halyna Unihovska-Renner Munich
When inflammation spreads from the gums to the surrounding jawbone and periodontal apparatus of the teeth, it leads to bone resorption and periodontitis. Periodontitis is a chronic multifactorial infectious disease.
Stress, smoking, inadequate oral hygiene, general illnesses but also genetic factors are associated with the development of periodontitis. Untreated periodontal disease, in turn, increases the patient's risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, lung disease, premature or miscarriage.
Progressive bone loss in the jaw eventually leads to tooth loosening and is the main cause of tooth loss in adults. Periodontitis is also a common cause of bad breath (halitosis).
There are different forms of periodontitis and the therapeutic approaches may therefore differ. We will be happy to advise you personally, carry out comprehensive diagnostics and create a treatment plan that is individually tailored to your clinical picture.
