We include our little patients in the early examination programme from the moment the first teeth emerge. In this way, the children get to know the atmosphere in a dental practice at an early age and can overcome fear of contact.
Nutrition and dental care advice are important components of the early examination. We show the children in a playful way the treatment devices that are used in a dental practice.
Prophylaxis programme from school age onwards
The children are integrated into the prophylaxis programme from the age of 6. The teeth are stained to make plaque visible. In this way we can show the children in an easily understandable way where they should clean better. But they are also praised when they have cleaned thoroughly. This is followed by tooth cleaning with polish and finally fluoridation with a delicious gel that tastes like strawberry or banana.
If caries is already apparent, filling therapy is performed with materials suitable for children.
We explain to the children on the model and also in the mouth how they should brush their teeth properly. Early oral hygiene awareness is promoted in children with the aim of maintaining healthy teeth throughout their lives.
We also perform orthodontic screening of children of this age. Depending on the findings, the children are referred to an orthodontist for further clarification.
After each visit to the dentist, the child will of course receive a small gift from us for their cooperation. This may encourage them to look forward to the next checkup examination.
